Throughout his adolescence, Justin Krashefski stayed active, learning to play several different sports. He entered the U.S. Coast Guard after finishing high school, where he learned about the history and practices of the military service. Additional, he learned new exercise strategies to maintain a high degree of physical fitness. After the Coast Guard, Krashefski joined the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, learning the local laws and regulations necessary to patrol his community.
Passionate about learning, specifically learning how to help and protect others, Krashefski decided to pursue a career in fitness education. His background in the armed forces provided him with a work ethic to maintain his level of fitness, and he felt the desire to share that with others. To do so, he became a certified personal trainer and started training others to achieve a higher level of fitness.
While the training process was effective in enhancing his trainees’ appearances, Justin Krashefski still didn’t feel completely satisfied. He realized that he wasn’t simply passionate about physical fitness training, but he was also interested in the nutritional and psychological aspects of the process. With this in mind, he decided to pursue an Associate of Science in Sports Medicine at Keiser University.
Wanting to continue to expand his knowledge of sports medicine, Krashefski pursued further education. He enrolled in Florida Atlantic University’s Exercise Science and Health Promotion program and is currently working toward earning a Bachelor of Science degree in the Department. Krashefski plans to share his education with others by opening a fitness and lifestyle studio following graduation.
Justin Krashefski is a fitness fanatic. The South Florida native begins each day with a run around his neighborhood and continues to exercise throughout the day. In addition to running, he enjoys biking, boxing, weight lifting and going for a swim in the Atlantic Ocean. For the past four years, Krashefski has been working as a personal trainer, encouraging his clients to achieve the best results possible. He develops his own workout programs that are inspired by his five years of service in the U.S. Coast Guard, which required him to complete rigorous total body workouts daily. These workouts have proved successful for his clients, but he wants to help them even further.
In addition to his work as a personal trainer, Justin Krashefski is also a student at Florida Atlantic University. There, he is in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion. Particularly interested in the affects of diet and nutrition on athletic performance and psychological disposition, he is getting a better understanding of how to develop effective diet plans for his clients. Confident that these plans will help maximize their results, Krashefski wants to open a fitness and lifestyle studio where he can develop comprehensive diet and exercise plans tailored to his clients’ individual needs. He plans to open this business after finishing his degree in the next couple years.

Serving in any branch of the United States Armed Forces is difficult, requiring extensive classroom studies in addition to a rigorous physical training program. The Coast Guard is the nation’s smallest branch of military service, and thus has very high expectations for its recruits.
Justin Krashefski served in the USCG for five years, beginning in 2001, and later spent four years as a police officer in south Florida. He chose to leave the Fort Lauderdale Police Department in 2010 to pursue a career in sports medicine. Krashefski chose this path because it was a career that was considerably less stressful than law enforcement, but still allowed him to help others and utilize his physical fitness training.
Before he enrolled in Florida Atlantic University’s Exercise Science and Health Promotion program, Justin Krashefski attained his Personal Trainer Certification from the American Council on Exercise. With his trainees, Krashefski developed a fitness plan based on his training in the Coast Guard. The USCG training included 29 push-ups in 60 seconds, 38 sit-ups in 60 seconds, running 1.5 miles in under 13 minutes, and treading water for 5 minutes. Performing these exercises left Krashefski in excellent shape, and they also have proved effective for his clients.
Upon completion of his degree, Krashefski plans to open a fitness and lifestyle studio. Interested in all aspects of exercise science, he wants to share workout strategies and diet and nutritional programs with his clients to help maximize their health. With his accomplished career protecting his country and community, he continues to protect the lives of others through fitness training.

The FLPD is responsible for protecting the 33 square mile area of Fort Lauderdale. That jurisdiction includes 84 miles of navigable waterways and seven miles of coastline. Krashefski’s Coast Guard training proved particularly effective when patrolling Fort Lauderdale’s waterways.
After spending four years protecting the people of Fort Lauderdale, Justin Krashefski decided to pursue a new career, this time in fitness education. After realizing that he could make a career out of his proclivity for working out, he enrolled at Keiser University and earned an Associate’s degree in Sports Medicine.
