Justin Krashefski is a former police officer with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. He worked for four years there, protecting people from crime and violence and doing his part to make his community safe for everyone. Krashefski wanted to protect and serve others because he saw himself as a hero to those who needed help. He loves helping people and keeping them safe from harm. While he worked for the FLPD, Krashefski strived in everything he did to ensure that everyone he was responsible for was safe and protected from the rising threat of crime in the area. He hopes that his efforts made the streets a little more welcoming to everyone.
Justin Krashefski now works as a personal trainer in pursuit of opening his own fitness studio for his community in Boca Raton, Florida, a dream that is reinforced by the many lessons he learned when he worked for the FLPD. Justin Krashefski learned that sacrifice for the good of others takes many forms. It’s easy to frame oneself as the hero when you’re in a police uniform. You imagine yourself diving in front of bullets, rescuing children and babies from dangerous situations, catching the bad guys, cracking the case, etc. But these heroic actions are nothing without the everyday heroism that good police officers perform. It’s not always breaking the big case that helps people the most. Sometimes, it’s simply being in the right place at the right time to offer advice and guidance to prevent a crime or dangerous situation in the future.
Justin Krashefski is attending Florida Atlantic University in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion.
